Suntec Singapore Wins Best Companies to Work for in Singapore Award

Singapore, 12 December 2016 – Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre (Suntec Singapore) was named as one of the best employers in Singapore by the HR Asia Best Companies To Work For in Asia 2016 Awards. Suntec Singapore was the first MICE venue organisation to be conferred the prestigious accolade since the award’s inception.

An independent panel of judges selected the 20 winners from 160 participating companies in Singapore. The results were based on a stringent evaluation process which assessed each company’s work environment, human resource practices, and the outcomes of an employee survey conducted by HR Asia.

The self-administered employee survey measured emotional engagement, advocacy, as well as intent and motivation. The leading sentiments of Suntec Singapore’s staff were “It is important to me that I meet or exceed my customer’s expectations” and“I am willing to go the extra mile if I can contribute to the success of the organisation”, which reflected the high level of ownership and empowerment across the organisation.

Suntec Singapore attributed its win to these top three criteria:

  1. Inspiring a strong sense of purpose, commitment and unity in its people
  2. Nurturing an inclusive culture which is supported by people-centric policies and practices tailored to the unique environment of the MICE industry
  3. Building a successful and sustainable business with a focus on innovation

“In tandem with the Centre’s major renovation in 2013, we also evolved the business from an organisational culture standpoint.  It is no small feat to successfully host more than a thousand events and welcome over three million visitors each year, and we have witnessed how higher employee engagement leads to outstanding business results,” explained Arun Madhok, Chief Executive Officer, Suntec Singapore. “We are honoured to be recognised as one of the best companies to work for in Singapore.”

“We have the best talent in the industry. We will continue to invest in our people, so they may grow alongside the organisation,” Arun remarked.
